Penobscot Bay YMCA Board Member
Nearly fifty years ago, when Ann and I settled in Lincolnville Center for the duration, the “old Camden Y”, on lower Chestnut Street, became a generous partner in raising our young family. From chilly swimming lessons to (imagine!) high school proms, our four boys knew the Y inside and out. A few steps from my law office, the Y offered me respite with exercise, noon volleyball, squash and racquetball in antique courts. Today, the Y is a community essential in countless new ways, serving senior folks like me, to the physically-challenged, to young people and families, often of modest means, to our precious little ones. Serving on the Y Board is a new privilege, a chance for me to begin repaying in a small way the debt to the Y so many of us owe.
