Social Responsibility

GIVING BACK & PROVIDING SUPPORT TO OUR NEIGHBORS

The Penobscot Bay YMCA is for Social Responsibility, giving back and providing support to our neighbors. The Y has been listening and responding to our communities’ needs for over 100 years. Whether developing skills or emotional well-being, welcoming and connecting our neighbors or advocating for healthier communities, the Y fosters the care and respect that all people need and deserve. Through the Y, countless volunteers, donors, leaders and partners are empowering thousands of people, and the communities in which we live, to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Penobscot Bay YMCA is committed to helping people reach their full potential through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body. The Y serves people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and incomes. It is our belief that no one should be turned away for their inability to pay.

Through our Membership For All (MFA) program, we offer sliding-scale fees designed to fit each individual’s or family’s financial situation. For those who need additional assistance beyond our MFA guidelines, we encourage them to apply to our Open Door Program, which requires additional steps including a letter and a one-on-one meeting to discuss special circumstances. If you are in need, please contact Sandy Bodamer at 207.236.3375 ext. 203.

The funds available for our MFA and Open Door programs are made possible through the generous support of our donors to our Annual Support Campaign.

GIVE

The Y has been serving children, youth, adults and families in our community for more than 100 years...providing programs, activities and support services that help people of all ages reach their full potential in spirit, mind and body.

We are surrounded by complex social issues and needs, health and educational disparities, rising rates of obesity and related diseases and changing demographics. The Y is here to help meet those needs. We thrive on providing positive opportunities to the community that support the need to succeed in life.

Your support of the Penobscot Bay YMCA helps us make a difference in the lives of people from all backgrounds and economic levels. Thanks for helping us strengthen our communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
