After School Program Staff ($15/Hour) - Rockland

Job Type: Seasonal - Location: Rockland Harbor YMCA

Now Hiring for the 2018-19 School Year -  Afterschool Program Staff - Rockland South School - January 14 through end of school year in June 2019

 

Part-time Position Available: 

1 position open in the Rockland Program 

Work afternoons Monday through Friday. No nights, no weekends. Position hours and days follow the school calendar.

Approximately 15 hours/week at South School, 2:30pm until 5:30pm, Monday - Friday 

Starting Pay: $15/hour

Assistant Childcare Teacher - Part-time

Job Type: Full Time - Location: Penobscot Bay YMCA

Assistant Teacher: Part-time Position open 2 days per week in Rockport from 7am to 5:30pm working with infants.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Do you enjoy working with infant children?  We have an immediate opening for a part-time childcare teacher at our Rockport Childcare Center. We are looking for someone to work two days per week from 7am to 5:30pm.

Camp Directors - Summer 2019

Job Type: Seasonal - Location: Penobscot Bay YMCA

Now Hiring Summer Camp Directors for Summer 2019

Must be able to work Monday through Friday schedule from June 17 through August 23.

Adventure Camp Director - Directing staff and camp activities for middle school aged children. Leading fun outdoor adventures, canoeing, hiking, exploring beaches and parks, and so much more. Work daytime hours, Monday through Friday and make a positive impact with the youth in your community.

KinderKamp Director - Directing staff and camp activities for children about to enter kindergarten or just finishing kindergarten. Work daytime hours, Monday through Friday and make a positive impact with the youth in your community. 

Summer Camp Director -  Directing staff and camp activities for children aged 7 to 11. Lead field trips three days per week, lead fun daily activities that promote activity and character development. Work daytime hours, Monday through Friday and make a positive impact with elementary aged children in your community.

Camp Directors provide a safe, nurturing and positive environment for children with a focus on the YMCA's core values of: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

  • Directs and supervises camp program activities to meet YMCA objectives.
  • Exemplify the YMCA philosophy in teaching to reflect a positive image, promoting the healthy growth and development of youth.
  • Establish and maintain a clear line of communication with parents, campers, and other camp staff.
  • Provide an emotionally and physically safe environment for campers.
  • Incorporate STEM activities for children and opportunities to learn and prepare children for the next school year.
  • Write weekly newsletters.
  • Facilitate weekly staff meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records (busing lists, accident & incident reports, field trip permission slips, group lists, camp schedules).

Lifeguards

Job Type: Part Time - Location: Penobscot Bay YMCA

Primary Duties: 

Help us create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement.  

We are offering a Lifeguard Certification Course in December on the 15th, 16th and 22nd. You must attend all three days and complete the on-line part of the course as well. If you are interested in enrolling in the class and working at the Y, please contact us by December 12. Lifeguards make so many important things happen at the Y, kids are able to have swim lessons, adults are able to exercise, rehabilitation
appointments can occur, in water fitness classes, swim team and somuch more. So many families, adults and children use the Y pool every single day. Come be a part of making a difference and supporting
healthy living in your community.

Are you great at making an outstanding “first” and “last” impression as members and participants enter and exit the YMCA? We have an immediate opening for the right person who wants to make a significant positive impact in the lives of our neighbors and friends. We are looking for welcoming and dependable part-time membership representatives to join our Rockport team. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in guests and members, taking payments, program sign-ups, facility tours and enrolling new members. Weekday, afternoon/early evening shifts available. Position requires computer skills, the ability to multi-task, the ability to provide excellent customer service and develop relationships with our members and guests.

Rockport opening is a weekday, afternoon/early evening, 15 to 20 hours per week.

Monday: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Wednesday: 2:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Thursday: 1:00 PM - 6:15 PM
Friday: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
