Camp counselors provide a safe, nurturing and positive environment for all camp participants, ensuring that campers have a fun and enriching experience. By leading by example, counselors shall teach the campers the importance of the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.
This is a great summer job for students considering a career in education to gain valuable experience in the field. We will complete all hiring for summer camp by the middle of February so apply now if you are interested in working this summer at the Y. Spend your summer outdoors being active, having fun and making a positive difference in the lives on the kids in our community.
We prefer camp counselors to have a lifeguard certification and will pay for the course for qualified applicants. Counselors with lifeguard certification earn $1 per hour more than counselors without the certification.
