Now Hiring for the 2017-18 School Year -  Afterschool Program Staff

Part-time positions Available:

1 positions open in at Camden-Rockport 

Work afternoons Monday through Friday. No nights, no weekends. Position hours and days follow the school calendar.

Approximately 15 hours/week, after-school hours until 5:30pm, Monday - Friday, Starting pay $15.00/hour

Assistant Childcare Director

Job Type: Full Time - Location: Penobscot Bay YMCA

This position supports the work of the Penobscot Bay YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA early learning programs.

IMPACT ON MISSION: To support children in a reaching their full potential by allowing them to express their talents creatively and physically in a safe, healthy and enriching early learning environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist with management of the early learning programs for the Rockport location, including the Childwatch Programs. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities.
  2. Director oversite and management over afterschool programs in Camden –Rockport area.
  3. Maintain NAEYC accreditation status.
  4. Assists with the recruitment, hiring, developing, and scheduling of staff and volunteers as needed. Helps Director evaluate staff performance and develop strategies to motivate staff to achieve goals.
  5. Supports and budget for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality.
  6. Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. Maintain the quality rating system.
  7. Assists with the management of program enrollment for all early learning programs.
  8. Monitors upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment ensuring the physical environment is safe and supports healthy living.
  9. Maintains proper records/department files.
  10. Organizes special events for parents and children.
  11. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  12. Assists with child care third party billing.
  13. Provides a minimum of 10 hours of classroom coverage per week.
  14. Helps facilitate monthly department staff meetings and relevant training as required by the YMCA and DHHS and Maine Roads to Quality.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned for the good of the organization.

Preschool Teacher (Full-time - Rockland)

Job Type: Full Time - Location: Penobscot Bay YMCA

Full-Time Preschool Teacher - Year Round Position

Do you enjoy working with preschool-aged children?  We have an immediate opening for a full-time year round preschool teacher at the Rockland Harbor YMCA Early Learning Center. This is a 5 day per week schedule Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm schedules.  Excellent benefit package, with paid time-off (80 hours in first year), 8 paid holidays, health insurance, health reimbursement account ($1,200/year), life insurance, short and long-term disability.
