Now Hiring for the 2018-19 School Year -  Afterschool Program Staff at New Program at Lincolnville Central School

 

Part-time positions Available:

2 new positions open 

Work afternoons Monday through Friday. No nights, no weekends. Position hours and days follow the school calendar.

Approximately 15 hours/week, 2:30pm until 5:30pm, Monday - Friday

Part-time positions Available:

Approximately 12 hours/week, 3:15pm until 5:30pm, Monday - Friday, Starting pay $15.00- $16/hour

Assistant to the Childcare Director

Job Type: Full Time - Location: Penobscot Bay YMCA

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position supports the work of the Penobscot Bay YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Helps to develop and implement high quality YMCA Childcare programs.

IMPACT ON MISSION: To support children in a reaching their full potential by allowing them to express their talents creatively and physically in a safe, healthy and enriching early learning environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist with management of the early learning programs for the Rockport & Rockland locations, including the Childwatch Programs. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities.
  2. Assists with classroom coverage in Rockport and Rockland and covering for teacher and Childcare Director Personal Time Off.
  3. Maintain NAEYC accreditation status.
  4. Assists with the development, and scheduling of staff and volunteers as needed. 
  5. Supports and budget for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality.
  6. Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. Maintain the quality rating system.
  7. Monitors upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment ensuring the physical environment is safe and supports healthy living.
  8. Maintains proper records/department files.
  9. Provides a minimum of 20 hours of classroom coverage per week.
  10. Helps facilitate monthly department staff meetings and relevant training as required by the YMCA and DHHS and Maine Roads to Quality.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned for the good of the organization.

Before School Care Program Staff

Job Type: Part Time - Location: Penobscot Bay YMCA

We are looking for one person to join our Before Care Team at the Camden Rockport Elementary School. The Penobscot Bay YMCA's Before School Program provides early care for school aged children who attend CRES from 7am to 8:30am Monday through Friday at the elementary school.  If you are looking for more hours we can combine this position with another part-time role in childcare to increase the weekly hours.

Full-Time Infant Teacher

Do you enjoy caring for infants?  Do you want to help children grow and reach developmental milestones?  We are growing our infant care and are looking to hire two more infant care teachers for full-time year round positions at the YMCA Childcare Center in Rockport. This is a daytime, Monday through Friday schedule.

Short-term Substitute Teacher for Maternity Leave (Rockland)

Job Type: Part Time - Location: Rockland Harbor YMCA

We are looking for experienced teachers to help us cover two maternity leaves in our Rockland Early Learning Center.  The ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to establish effective relationships with parents and children. Teaching responsibilities include providing care, hygiene and learning, and developmental activities, in addition to behavior guidance of children. Requires maintaining classroom records, ensuring cleanliness and promoting a professional environment. If you love kids, have experience and are just looking for a short-term assignment this may be a perfect fit for you.  We are looking for someone to fill in from late August through November and we have an additional maternity leave expected from December through March so employment for six months may be possible.
