Financial Assistance


We believe that no one should be turned away due to inability to pay. The Penobscot Bay YMCA is a non-profit organization committed to strengthening the foundations of our community, one neighbor at a time. Our Annual Scholarship Campaign is an initiative that provides scholarships for programs and memberships to anyone in need.

All Y members receive the same membership benefits, regardless of whether or not they are receiving financial assistance, which takes into consideration family size and household income. The Y maintains confidentiality of all financial information received in the application process.


Membership for All (MFA) is an income-based, pricing structure for membership that is designed to adjust the membership rate based on household income. This initiative fits the Penobscot Bay YMCA's mission of keeping the Y accessible to everyone regardless of financial capacity and is anchored firmly in the Y's commitment to social responsibility.



Our Open Door Program requires additional steps which includes a letter and a one-on-one meeting to discuss your special circumstances. If you are in need, please contact Sandy Bodamer at 236.3375 ext. 214.
